Day 29: Kirksville Mo to Quincy IL

We had an easier time of it today.  Sure, there were some early hills and the day was overcast most of the time.  But the route was relatively flat today, in general, and there was no rain or appreciable wind.  I won't say it was a boring day, but it was an uneventful day.  After all the effort spent during the last few days, I had a difficult time getting into this ride and prefer to think of it as a recovery ride.

US 6E was the road we used for most of the day.  Traffic was light
except for times when church services ended.

Edina -- another small town with interesting architecture that probably has seen better times.

Still on US 6E -- a nice flat road connecting small communities east of Kirksville, MO

At Mile 64, we left US 6E to approach Quincy, IL on  the wide paved shoulders of US 24E

Still in Missouri.until we cross the mighty Mississippi River

If it looked like an easy day, it was a relatively easy day.  No heat, no rain, no wind, and only some early hills.  It's what we needed......because tomorrow we ride 107 miles to Springfield, IL.
